Description of the Crest

The motto written in Sanskrit Devanagari script on the top is a prayer for leading humanity from darkness to light. The book and lamp are the eternal symbols of knowledge and light. The Konark wheel not only indicates the achievement of the people of Orissa in the field of art and architecture but also stands for progress. The waterfall next to the wheel stands for the scenic spots and natural potentialities of the locality. The name of the college is inscribed in English at the bottom.

------- Our History -------

Out of the intense desire of the public of this locality for the spread of higher education in this backward tribal area and in response to heavy public demand, the Govt. of Orissa evinced keen interest in starting a college at Jeypore from the session 1947-48. The philanthropist King Rajarshi Vikram Dev Verma who once ruled the state of Jeypore donated land and buildings for the college. His Diwan and other prominent citizens of the area extended all possible help and co-operation for this noble cause.

The college started functioning from 01-07-1947 as "JEYPORE COLLEGE" and Sj. K.M. Dwivedy joined the college as its first Principal on 06-07-1947. The college began with only 49 students, 09 teachers and 20 boarders in the hostel. Maharaja Vikram Dev Verma was a great patron of art, learning and culture in this neglected part of Orissa. As a tribute to his monumental contributions the Govt. of Orissa very aptly decided in 1951 to rechristen the erstwhile "JEYPORE COLLEGE" as "VIKRAM DEV COLLEGE". The statue of this great erudite scholar adorns the central place of the main building of the college.

The college was upgraded to a FIRST GRADE COLLEGE in 1961 with the opening of Under Graduate classes in Science and Humanities streams in 1961 and 1963 respectively. Honours teaching provisions were made during the years 1968-73. Teaching facilities at the Post-Graduate level were first initiated in the Department of History in 1979 and such facilities were extended to the Departments of Economics, Commerce and Political Science in 1983 and 1990 respectively. Higher secondary streams in Arts, Science and Commerce were introduced in 1983. Post- Graduate studies in Chemistry were introduced in 1993-94.

Cartoon Network Pairs for Weetabix Promo

Promotional campaign returns for second year to encourage kids to eat more fruit.

Breakfast brand Weetabix is bringing back its Weetabuddies campaign, first launched in January 2015, as part of a year-long partnership with Cartoon Network.

The multi-channel campaign debuted Jan. 6 and aims to inspire a new generation of cereal eaters to eat a nutritious breakfast.

Derived from the cereal’s wholegrain biscuit, Weetabuddy characters feature a range of toppings, the majority of which are fruit-based to help increase children’s fruit intake at breakfast. Cartoon Network has transformed some of its central characters into Weetabuddies for the campaign–from "Adventure Time’s" Jake to "Regular Show’s" Rigby and "Powerpuff Girls’" Bubbles.

Consumers will also have the chance to win one of five special edition Weetabuddies soft toys (Tropicolin, Blue Barry, Coach Bananas, Raz Baz and Straws) in an on-pack promotion.

Throughout 2016, Cartoon Network and Weetabix will work together with additional campaigns to air on Cartoon Network, as well as its sister channel Boomerang.

Cartoon Network has also created a Weetabuddies microsite. On the site kids can submit their own Weetabuddy creations and play the "Drench Me" mini-game.

“We’re thrilled to be working with the iconic breakfast brand Weetabix to help launch the Weetabuddies 2016 campaign," says Zara Peters, sponsorship and promotions director, Turner Broadcasting. "Cartoon Network will feature sponsored Weetabuddies content across our on-air and digital platforms to help encourage kids to get creative and excited about Weetabix’s healthy breakfast cereal. Cartoon Network values kids' creativity, and we can’t wait to see their Weetabuddy creations. We believe this campaign will remind kids that mornings can be fun.”

Cartoon Network Releases Action-Packed Ass-Kicking Promo for Animation 'OK K.O.'

The universe of CN’s creation is filled with all that nerd and pop culture so dear to us, especially those who were born in the late 80’s and 90’s.

Ralph Karam, Le Cube’s Creative Director, explains that “using the studio’s trademark mix of different art and animation styles, we were able to translate what we felt Ian Jones-Quartey, the show’s creator, wanted to convey to the audience.

From the nostalgic elements to the use of action movie worthy cameras and shots, we at the studio and everybody at CN LA hope it’s clear that the film is a product of the connection we all feel with the series concept”.

Taking inspiration from the animes that made mornings exciting and the hours of Double Dragon and Sonic The Hedgehog played at the local arcade (right next to the neighborhood bodega), the film explores — in an effortless flow — the mix between different references, so important to the overall tone of the cartoon, and unique art styles that coexist, but were also chosen specifically to match the characteristics and personalities of each character.

“It was a big (but awesome) challenge to blend all the techniques, like pixel art elements in 2D animation scenes”, said Karam, “but the team, along with CN LA, really believe that it pays off by giving the film a very unique look and feel, seamlessly mixing all the references we already loved”.
