In Patch 3.5 many Cold skills got reworked and also Cast on Critical Gem's cooldown was lowered 0.5s to 0.15s, letting it proc up to 7 times per second! This change made Cast on Critical Strike based builds one of the strongest in the game. This build is focused mainly on triggering Ice Nova and Frostbolt with Cyclone, but it fits all kinds of Cold spells really well, so if you prefer to play Glacial Cascade or Freezing Pulse, you don't need to change anything except the desired Spell Gems. The only required, and the most expensive item in this build is Cospri's Malice, the rest is focused on stacking as much Critical Strike Chance and Multiplier as possible. Thanks to the addition of Cluster Jewels we can push this build's DPS even further. They are quite expensive, but also the best option for players that want to min-max their characters.

You can also find our other Path of Exile builds right over here: Odealo's Crafty Guides - Full List

1. Gameplay

The gameplay is pretty straightforward - you Cyclone into packs of monsters and trigger all your socketed Cold Spells. The more monsters, the more spell casts per second. It's one of the most satisfying and fastest map-clearing builds in the game, thanks to cold explosions and ice projectiles flying all over the screen. Getting high Attack Speed is critical versus Bosses, as you increase the number of Hits per second, and trigger your Spells more frequently.

We have updated the video for the current Patch 3.14. It was recorded on a level 93 Assassin with two Cospris, Pandemonius Amulet, and mainly rare gear. We had slightly below 5,000 Life and the DPS from the main setup's Ice Nova was around 2kk

2. Build's PROS & CONS

PROS
  • one of the best AoE in the game
  • great clear speed
  • decent Life pool and solid defenses
  • enjoyable triggering mechanism
  • high flexibility in terms of item choices, with just a few required uniques
  • can run reflect maps
CONS
  • requires to be played in Melee range with mediocre Physical Damage mitigation
  • expensive if you want to kill Guardians and Shaper

3. Leveling tips

This build feels really good, when you have all gear required for it and leveling Cast on Critical strike might be hard, that's why we recommend using Frost Blades for leveling, until you hit level 68, when you can wear all the required unique items. During leveling focus on upgrading your weapon to the highest Elemental/Physical DPS you can find.

[3.14] Kami's Life | LL | CI CoC Ice Nova Assassin | all Content | deep Delve | max Block

Hey Guys,
I wanted to make a complete and detailed build guide, from a near zero(1-70ex) Life Based Coc Ice Nova Assassin up to a real dps or tank Hero (50-1000ex) LL/CI Character.
With this build it's possible to do all Content. It doesn't matter if its Delve 1k+, kill Sirus A8or farm juiced T16maps.

I played CoC Assassin already like 20 times in many different variations, some where Tanky as hell with okayish dps, some were very high dps but squishier, some were for a balanced gameplay.

In the end you normally choose 2 out of the 3 stats listed for your prefered playstyle, unless you wanne balance it:
-Life / Energy Shield
-Damage
-Defensive and smoother gameplay mechanics(max Block, Aoe scaling, Chain Explosions, Dodge)

After choosing your 2 options the only limiting factor is your Budget.

In terms of Life/ESPool:
Make sure that a Life based CoC (5k HP) never can reach the High EHP Pool of a LL (6-8k ES)or even CI Charakter (8-10k ES), but they tend to be way more Budget friendly and easier to gear.

In terms of Damage:
LL Builds are with distance the strongest version of a CoC build dps wise, but they tend to be mostly squishy, cause the lack of defensive mechanics like Dodge or Block.

In terms of Defensive and smoother gameplay mechanics:
Max Block -> only make sense if you go the full defensive CI route.
Dodge -> Only viable and recommended if you play the Life based starter
Aoe Scaling via Tree and Cluster Jewels-> pretty nice to have for smoother gameplay. In combinations with Herald of Ice and explode Armour (Life or CI) you're getting chainexplosions.

If you want the build to see in action you can visit my twitch site where I stream from time to time:
www.twitch.tv/Kamikaze93

!Warning!
Before you want to start this build, there are a few mechanics you should know. I recommend to carefully read the next few spoiler before you're starting to buy or craft your gear.

How the Build works, Aps and CdR

1) you hit an enemie with Cyclone -> try getting 100% Hit Chance

2)on that hit you try to get a critikal strike -> try to get 100% critical strike chance for Cyclone

3)the hit with cyclone crits and your CoC gem activates so you cast on crit Ice Nova thats linked to it in your gem setup.

4)After that you Cospri's Malice is going to trigger and shoots Frostbolt

------------------------------------------------
If you wanne go deeper in the substance of how CoC works:
https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/e5pyr8/the_cyclone_cast_on_critical_strike_cooldown/

Cooldown reduction is a very important stat in our build, cause there are Breakpoints we can hit to cast more often Ice Nova with Cast on Critical through Cyclone.

BP0 At 0-13% CDR you need to stay below <6.06 APS

BP1 At 14-51% CDR you need to stay below <7.57 APS

BP2 At 52%-57% CDR you need to stay below <10.1 APS

In the End we need to get the BP1 Breakpoint, so wee need atleas 14% CDR

you can get the stats on Boots, Belt or the awakening gem @lvl.3

If you have higher aps with your cyclone then the BP you got, you start missing casts from Ice Nova and loose a bunch of dps

for the aps calculation in PoB Fork:

1) import build
2) go to cyclone as your main skill
3) activate all flasks
4) activate Mistwalker, Tailwind, Onslaught, Frenzy Charges only if you got it from Gear, Gems or somewhere else

After reading carefully and understanding the mechanics, you can start picking the build version you want to play and start crafting or buying your Gear together.

Gem setup

Make sure I listed here a general gem setup, this varies on your weapon setup, curse ring and mana reservation pool
6-Link CoC setup

- swap in awakened added cold instead of inc. crtitical strike for a big dps boost, but only if you can keep your flasks up during fight for 100% Crit chance. Awakened CoC gem is only needed if you aim for the 52% CdR, make sure with the gem level the CdR increases.

4-Link Aura setup

You can place Precision instead of Discipline here if you're playing the Life based build

3-Link Movement and Vaal RF for dps

use Vaal RF on Bosses for more dps

4-Link cwdt setup

3-Link Cospri setup

4-Link Vortex setup

Make sure that depending on your Gear and version of CoC you play the Gem setup can vary.

Leaguestart Day 1-5

Day 1-5

Day 1

leveled with Freezing pulse and then swapped to a self cast Frostbolt Ice Nova setup.

Reached maps after 6.5h with all sidequest and 3 labs done. Bought now a Tabula and 2 Widowmaker, switched to a CoC setup and start farming maps.

https://pastebin.com/38X6N0CM

Day 2

farmed 16 watchstones and now farming red maps for the missing 16. So far I got no problems with doing T16 maps, dps is pretty good, but need to upgrade tomorrow my defences cause Life CoC is squishy against 1 shots with 4k Life.

- completed Uber Lab
- lucky 6 linked my Carcass Jack (5 Link is still fine)
- bought GG Militant Faith for 2ex
- alt spammed ilvl 75 Belt Base till I hit the recovery mod to equip a onslaught flask for aps and MS
- upgraded the Rare Gear for more Life and Accuracy

https://pastebin.com/emvm0XFt

Day 3

- killed A5 Sirus easy Deathless
- changed gloves for one with the delve mod, used 1 harvest craft to augment the lightning res for future gearing
- changed passive tree to allocate 4 jewel sockets for life/ crit multi and res
- changed Boots for Atziri steps to have more spell dodge
- changed onslaught flask for a phasing flask

https://pastebin.com/bnnTVrQx

Day 4

played the hole day up to, 2 Conquerors left for a full Atlas. spent 3h in the morning to upgrade my Gear. Atm feeling really tanky after some adjustments, dps skyrocketed even more.

changes so far since Day 3:
-lvl 21 Ice Nova gem (10c)
-Pandemonious with Annoint for insande dps boost and blind on hit for defence
-mark of the shaper for a good defence and offence choice
-elder ring with life, crit and chaos res through harvest crafting
-rare helmet to fix the missing accuracy, some more chaos res and stun immunity during fight
-enchanted boots for stun immunity which is pretty good during mapping
-new belt with a bit more Life, Res and dps
-thread of Hope which let us get a big dps boost without using more passive points

never felt that tanky so far with 4.6k Life. Did Sirus A7 toady with 1 unavoidable Death. Hopefully I can reach 5k Life @ lvl95. I think I did my best so far with the budget I got. I also bought awakened added cold and cast on crit for future projects, which arent necessary now.

The next steps I'm going to do is to buy a watcher's and then swap my inc. crit gem with a dps one. After that I'm mostly done with gearing and just grinding currency.

So far the only Problems I have are ground degen and random one shots every 20th? map or so.

Day 5

So you ask what I changed? -> I wanted more AoE, so I rebuilt the tree and lost nothing but got much more AoE.
After the end of the thay I swapped my inc. crit gem for an awakened added cold. This results that we arent crit capped anymore. So to compensate that we got 3 options.
1) keeping up Bottled Faith and Diamond Flask during Fights
2) get a hatred crit Watcher's Eye + Diamond Flask
3) get a Attack Crit Armour + Diamond Flask

https://pastebin.com/a4hPTFep

I choosed the Bottled Faith, cause the currently 9ex watcher's eye cost are not worth it in my opinion, also I had to sacrifice 1 Jewel Socket. A other Armour is with attack Crit and mostly explode is to expensive atm and I also dont wanne lose the AoE from Carcass. So I choosed the bottled Faith which is good dps upgrade and the Price of the Flask is also increaseing atm.

For now I dont see any big improvements without sacrificing defence mechanincs or investing a ton into some GG items.

A few options could be done with a big investment:
- +2/4 Carcass
- explode/ crit Armour
- Cluster Jewels (Sacrificing ~500 Life)
- Awakened cast on crit lvl 3+ to swap for a belt witout cooldown recovery speed
- awakened added cold @lvl 5 for +1 cold gems

Question & Answer

Why is my dps so low?

This depends mostly on your gear and stats.
1)first of all you have to be sure that your Hit Chance for Cyclone is near 100% otherwise you will not hit with cyclone. Accuracy is your friend here, try to get it from tree and gear
2)The Next things is that you have near 100% Crit Chance in fight with cyclone. Global Crit Chance or crit chance for attacks is here your friend, and you can get it from Diamond or Bottled Faith Flask, Hatred crit Watchers, suffix from influenced Body Armour, cluster Jewels and increased crit gem. If you dont have near 100% crit chance for cyclone you wont trigger the Ice Nova from the 6-Link setup.
3)attack speed is the next pretty big point in the build. This interacts with the cooldown you got for Ice Nova to be able to trigger the next cast. For the moment I recommend to go for a maximum of 7.57 aps with atleast 14% Cooldown recovery speed. If you have just 0.01 more aps then that you are going to skip a Ice Nova Cast, cause the Cooldown of Ice Nova wasnt ready when you attacked. If you are on Leaguestart and have 0% Cooldown recovery speed, you shouldnt hit faster then 6.06 attacks per second with cyclone.
For attack speed we havent much choice to get it unless from passive tree, gear or precision watchers.
For Cooldown recovery speed the only options we got is from belt up to 20%, Boots with 15% or an awakened CoC gem(scales with level)

If you can say yourself that all these stats are fine on your caracter, you should check your gear vs others from poe.ninja as an example or compare the gear your got vs the one in the guide listed. Then you normally should see room for improvents. I cant tell you how oftern I recommend to use pob and add some other gear, higher gems or other passive points/cluster Jewels in there to see how it can improve the build.

Why am I so squishy?

Also a pretty good question. First of all squishy is spongy expression for others, you have to know what killed you to work against it.
But there are some defensice mechanics you can build into your caracter to make it in general more tanky
1)High Life / ES pool, the more you can get the better. This is the only way that protect you against oneshots
2)Max Block / Dodge, the way to go to minimize the chance for getting hit or oneshooted, and with a good shield you get uup to 5% of your ES back
3)Stun Immune -> protects you against Stuns, so you can just smoothly cyclone through enemies without stops
4)Life / ES leech -> small but good ability to get some regen to go
5)ES on hit watchers -> pretty good during boss fights to get some ES back from your hits you deal to the enemy
6)Elemental Ailment Immune -> A pretty underestimated stat that makes you Immune to all Ailments like chill, freeze, scorch, brittle, ignite, sap and shock

Introduction

Cast on Critical Strike (colloquially known as CoC) builds have long been one of the iconic build archetypes in Path of Exile, offering an engaging and very unique experience that can tear through maps and decimate bosses with little effort. Cast On Critical Strike Support Cast On Critical Strike Support reigned triumphantly as one of the most potent and entertaining build archetypes in the 3.11 Harvest league, but changes to the Thread of Hope Thread of Hope gem have shaken up its defenses somewhat. This guide has received a considerable overhaul for and remains a heavyweight bosser despite some light nerfs, continuing to return as a potent powerhouse ready to leave a frozen wake of shattered enemies.

Playstyle

This build is one of incredible power and potential, that feels capable with only a few core investments, but scales into a monstrously powerful end-game that hardly any builds can match. Incredible offensive firepower is distilled into a simple and engaging end point, allowing you to annihilate bosses like The Shaper in seconds. Survival, however, is often just as important as the raw attack power of your exile, perhaps even more so. Fortunately, this build feels stable and can withstand any attacks enemies manage to get off against you.

Overall, this build can be one of the most fast-paced, exciting, and well rounded in the entire game. It excels in practically every respect, and has plenty of changes and permutations that can be made to customize it to preference, or upgrade it further towards god status.

Build Assessment

Pros

+ Incredible damage output

+ Well-rounded defenses

+ Melts all types of content; Bosses, Mapping, Delving, Labyrinth, etc.

+ Extremely fast clear speed

+ Extremely fast kill times (Uber Elder, Sirus, Aul the Crystal King, Mastermind, etc.)

+ High movement speed

+ Viable as both league starter and league finisher — functions a budget, but has plenty of investments to continually elevate the build

Cons

– Moderate cost required to get rolling in the end-game (Cospri's Malice Cospri's Malice, Chaos Innoculation)

Cyclone Cyclone requires prescient positioning on spooky bosses

– Can feel squishy when league starting or if you cannot afford baseline gear

Path of Building

Path of Building for the Chaos Innoculation (recommended) build can be found here.

Included are the skill trees, gem links, and an example set of gear with room for upgrades. Resistances have been excluded as they can be filled in on any piece as needed and available.

We use the Path of Building Community Fork for all of our builds, which is highly recommended. If you are encountering errors importing the build, please ensure you are .

Playstyle

This build clears everything extremely quickly, whether you are farming your T16 Maps or farming the Uber Elder. Players who love smashing through content but have a measured and precise style of play will enjoy this build the most, as it does require and reward careful movement in certain cases.

Cyclone Cyclone is used as the trigger spell for our CoC build, due to its extremely high attack speed and relatively generous range of effect. Cyclone is technically a movement skill, and it can be a polarizing choice for this reason. That said, the sheer power of Cyclone when compared with alternatives, such as Blade Flurry Blade Flurry, make it the clear winner.

Each time you approach an enemy, activate Cyclone Cyclone, ideally clicking close to your character to afford the most precise movement, affording you more agency to avoid dangerous abilities and ensuring you are not slowed for any longer than necessary. This will trigger our Ice Nova Ice Novas, which are socketed in both our main 6-link (with Cyclone and Cast On Critical Strike Support Cast On Critical Strike Support) as well as Cospri's Malice Cospri's Malice, our weapon of choice. Frostbolt Frostbolts, also socketed in Cospri’s, will trigger additional Ice Novas, resulting in a satisfying helping of freezing and screen shattering that absolutely tears apart the enemies on screen.

This build also incorporates skills like Vortex Vortex to increase our damage on sturdy targets and bosses. There are plenty of personal adjustments and customizations to be made, if desired, allowing you to adapt the build to further specialize towards a specific style of play. For example, if you really enjoy the security of playing with a Decoy Totem Decoy Totem on tough bosses, there are multiple “optional” gems that could be swapped out to accommodate personal preference.

Cerebral use of Flasks is relatively important to maintaining maximum damage and clear speed, as we do rely on The Wise Oak The Wise Oak and the Diamond Flask quite heavily to maintain our absurd damage output. While liberal use is advised, be careful not to “munch” charges by re-activating them too early and wasting any remaining duration. Additionally, due to Cyclone Cyclone’s status as a movement skill, certain care must be taken when using flasks that affect movement speed. Using a Quicksilver Flask will cause your character to travel farther and faster, which can be detrimental for uptime on a boss. There is no hard and fast rule; becoming comfortable with the skill and how your character moves is the main optimization and can only be developed with practice and muscle memory.

Passive Skill Tree

This is our recommended skill tree for the (recommended) version of the build.

Leveling

As a reminder, we have several guides to help you level up a character.

We recommend starting with Freezing Pulse Freezing Pulse, which works well with Lifesprig Lifesprig if you have one. If you have another character to pass Storm Brand Storm Brand to you at Level 12, this is ideal for leveling. Alternately, you can opt to use Freezing Pulse Freezing Pulse until Act III where Storm Brand Storm Brand can be acquired from the Fixture of Fate Library quest. Blade Vortex Blade Vortex is another great option that can be used until Act III (or all the way until maps if you choose) as either your primary leveling skill or as an additional means of boosting single target damage in an off-link.

Use this Level 48 Passive Tree as a general reference if you are leveling with Storm Brand Storm Brand. You will need to respec a few points later, but nothing drastic.

Passive Tree Storm Brand

In order of priority, the Storm Brand links are:

  1. Storm Brand Storm Brand
  2. Elemental Focus Support Elemental Focus Support
  3. Added Lightning Damage Support Added Lightning Damage Support
  4. Controlled Destruction Support Controlled Destruction Support
  5. Added Cold Damage Support Added Cold Damage Support
  6. Hypothermia Support Hypothermia Support

If you are using a Tabula Rasa Tabula Rasa, simply fill in the other gem sockets with whatever supports are available from the vendors until you reach Act II and Act III for the other gems.

Link Brand Recall Brand Recall to Arcane Surge Support Arcane Surge Support (Level 3) and Flame Dash Flame Dash. This is a great leveling link and should be acquired as soon as possible.

At Level 12 you can also acquire Blade Vortex Blade Vortex. Link it to Added Cold Damage Support Added Cold Damage Support, Added Lightning Damage Support Added Lightning Damage Support, and Controlled Destruction Support Controlled Destruction Support as soon as possible.

Herald of Ice Herald of Ice, Herald of Thunder Herald of Thunder, and Clarity Clarity should be used as early as possible.

Once you reach Act III and can acquire Lightning Spire Trap Lightning Spire Trap, set up the following 4-link, replacing your Blade Vortex Blade Vortex link:

  1. Lightning Spire Trap Lightning Spire Trap
  2. Added Lightning Damage Support Added Lightning Damage Support
  3. Controlled Destruction Support Controlled Destruction Support
  4. Trap and Mine Damage Support Trap and Mine Damage Support

You can play Storm Brand Storm Brand into early mapping if you like, which may be easier for league starter characters until Cospri's Malice Cospri's Malice can be acquired. Take a look at our full Storm Brand guide for tree reference if you plan on respeccing later.

You can transition to Cast On Critical Strike Support Cast On Critical Strike Support as early as level 44, when Widowmaker Widowmaker can be acquired. Ideally, you will also want to have a Diamond Flask, which is really essential before you get your second Ascendancy node, Deadly Infusion. Refer to the links and Passive Tree earlier in the guide for more details. Instead of Herald of Thunder Herald of Thunder, use Frostbite Frostbite with Blasphemy Support Blasphemy Support instead to provide you with a nice damage boost. Enfeeble Enfeeble or Temporal Chains Temporal Chains are also great alternatives if you feel like you need a bit of extra defense.

FAQ

Which Annointment Should I Use on my Amulet?

There are plenty of options for utility and defense, but from a damage perspective these are our recommendations:

  • If you are , then the notable is your best bet.
  • Heart of Ice: Hands down the best damage option due to the damage, cold penetration, and energy shield leech.
  • Arcane Potency: Not far behind Heart of Ice for damage, but loses on bosses and lacks the leech. Possibly a better option in lesser gear when Critical Strike is still very desirable and not yet close to cap.
  • Eagle Eye or Depth Perception: Budget options that can be used to cap Accuracy if needed and grant some Critical Strike.

Chaos Innoculation or Life?

Chaos Innoculation is a safer way to play the build and recommended if you can afford the gear. Life is a little easier to setup with similar or better damage potential, but much more squishy.

Cast on Critical Strike Mechanics Explained

Cast On Critical Strike Support Cast On Critical Strike Support can only trigger a maximum number of times per second, which is just over 6 times per second, due to an internal cooldown. Cyclone Cyclone hits twice with every hit, and therefore we want to have a “Attacks Per Second” (APS) of 3.0, which would result in 6 total attacks per second. Since this is just under the maximum trigger rate of Cast on Critical Strike, this gives us the best chance of attaining the maximum possible triggers since there is almost no overlap.

This means that using a Silver Flask will actually reduce your damage output, since your Cyclone Cyclone hits will no longer cleanly line up with the Cast On Critical Strike Support Cast On Critical Strike Support internal cooldowns, which will result in slight delays between some triggers and a sizeable amount of lost damage potential. You will essentially be wasting every 7-8th “attack” from Cyclone, as Cast on Critical Strike would be on cooldown for that period. In order to not exceed this limitation, you should not purchase a Cospri's Malice Cospri's Malice with an Attack Speed value that exceeds 9%, and avoid Attack Speed on Rares.

There is a way around this, however, and it is explained in our Belt section. A Shaped Rare belt with Increased Cooldown Recovery Speed (ICRS) of at least 14% will increase the maximum number of Cast On Critical Strike Support Cast On Critical Strike Support triggers to ~7.60 per second. This means our optimal APS value would become around 3.75, giving us 7.50 attacks per second, once again just beneath the maximum trigger rate for the smoothest triggers.

If you have 14% ICRS, you can upgrade your Cospri's Malice Cospri's Malice to a maximum Attack Speed roll (14%). You can also swap your Basalt Flask for a Silver Flask for a sizeable damage boost, but at a loss to defensive capability.

How Do I Calculate DPS?

Calculating DPS for this build is not as simple as merely ticking the right boxes in Path of Building. You will have to done a daisy chain of napkin math — none of it particularly complex — to accurately account for the various effects of the build. I made a comment demonstrating to a reader how to calculate DPS which I have re-pasted here for your convenience. When inputting your Ice Nova Ice Nova and Frostbolt Frostbolt damage you (taking the multiplier into account) because we nearly always deal Critical Strikes. We then multiply by a decimal of our Critical Strike (e.g. 0.95) to account for the percentage of times that we do not crit. If you are using a second Cospri's Malice Cospri's Malice with Elemental Focus Support Elemental Focus Support you will also need to take this into account.

Using my gear from Synthesis League:

6L Ice Nova Ice Nova: Ice Nova Ice Nova hit (223,011) * 2 (Frostbolt Frostbolt procs) * 7.57 (triggers per second with CDR) * 0.95 (Crit Chance) = 3,207,567 DPS

Cyclone Cyclone: 47,000 DPS

Cospri's Malice Cospri's MaliceFrostbolt Frostbolts: Frostbolt Frostbolt hit (69,433) * 7.57 (triggers per second with CDR) x 0.95 Crit Chance) = 499,327 DPS — Divide by two, since Cospri's Malice Cospri's Malice procs alternate between socketed gems — 249,664 DPS

Cospri's Malice Cospri's MaliceIce Nova Ice Nova: Ice Nova Ice Nova hit (52,766) * 2 (Frostbolt Frostbolt procs) * 7.57 (triggers per second with CDR) * 0.95 (Crit Chance) = 758,933 DPS — Divide by two, since Cospri's Malice Cospri's Malice procs alternate between socketed gems — 379,466 DPS

Combined DPS Calculation: 3,883,697 DPS

Bonechill Support Bonechill Support applied by Vortex Vortex: 3,883,697 DPS * 1.3 = 5,048,806 DPS

Shock: 5,048,806 DPS * 1.2 = 6,058,567 DPS

Vaal Righteous Fire Vaal Righteous Fire: 6,058,567 DPS * 1.4 = 8,481,994 DPS

Righteous Fire Righteous Fire 6,058,567 DPS * 1.4 = 8,481,994 DPS

Righteous Fire Righteous Fire and Vaal Righteous Fire Vaal Righteous Fire: 8,481,994 DPS * 1.4 = 11,874,791 DPS

These calculations were done with Concentrated Effect Support Concentrated Effect Support as my 6th link, as “Shaper DPS” should be calculated using gems I would use on Shaper or Uber Elder. This is an extremely complicated build with many layered interactions between damage, ailments, and triggers — unfortunately, there is no way in Path of Building to automate this calculation. Good luck!

What About Lycosidae Lycosidae?

Lycosidae Lycosidae is still a perfectly viable choice and can be used all throughout the end-game if you prefer not to mess around with Accuracy.

Cospri’s Malice Explained

Gems trigger from top to bottom in Cospri's Malice Cospri's Malice, as explained earlier in the guide. This item will trigger automatically from our Cyclone Cyclone, so there is no need to do anything beyond socketing the gems. The gems socketed in Cospri's Malice Cospri's Malice alternate between triggers, therefore the Ice Nova Ice Nova socketed in Cospri’s will trigger half as many times as your main 6-Link.

Class: Ranger Witch Duelist Marauder Shadow Templar

This PoE 3.15 Temple CoC Ice Nova Inquisitor build can works great with low budget, cheap to start. We can do all content in the game including 100% delirium T16 maps (without headhunter) all bosses and Maven's Invitation: The Feared.

[Expedition] PoE 3.15 Templar CoC Ice Nova Inquisitor Fast Build

Quick Jump

Pros & Cons

  • + Explosions from Herald of Ice :D
  • + Tanky and safe playstyle.
  • + Immune to elemental ailments.
  • + Fast clear.
  • + Good boss killer.
  • + Cheap to start.
  • + Can do all content in the game including 100% delirium T16 maps (without headhunter) all bosses and Maven's Invitation: The Feared.
  • - To do elemental reflect maps or Uber Atziri you need to switch one ring for Sibyl's Lament and take Soul of Yugul pantheon.
  • - For no regen maps you have to switch one flask for Enduring mana flask. (It's easier to avoid this mod).

Core Mechanics

  • Cospri's Malice
  • Corrupted Soul + Pious Path
  • Righteous Providence

Corrupted Soul Keystone split non-chaos damage you take to 50% be taken as Life and other 50% as Energy shield. For example if you get hit by 1000 dmg you lose 500 life and 500 energy shield instead of losing 1000 energy shield in regular case. It's worthy mention that because of split damage received you don't benefit if you ES>Life.

Pious Path add your life regen to you ES regen. In our case if we have 800 life regen we will also get 800 ES regen. With Corrupted Soul we always lose equal amount of life and ES when dealing with non-chaos damage and in this case we always utilize our double regeneration rate.

Righteous Providence gives us over 500% increased critical strike chance which allows us to always have 100% Critical Strike Chance.

Here you can find explanation about attack speed and cooldown recovery of CoC and Cospri's Malice:

Skill Tree

Ascendancy: Righteous Providence -> Inevitable Judgement -> Sanctuary -> Pious Path

Pantheon

Major

You can use any of Major Pantheon.

  • Brine King if you feel you have problems with stuns.
  • Lunaris for mapping.
  • Solaris for bosses.
  • Arakaali for more Life/ES regen.

Minor

  • Gruthukul for mapping.
  • Ryslatha or Garukhan for bosses.
  • Shakari if you expect chaos damage.
  • Yugul for Uber Atziri and Maven's Invitation: The Feared.

Gems Setup

Body Armour

Cyclone - Awakened Cast on Critical Strike - Ice Nova - Hypothermia - Awakened Added Cold Damage (Increased Critical Strikes before Watcher's Eye) - Inspiration

Cospri's Malice

Frostbolt - Ice Nova - Ice Bite (Power Charge on Critical Strike before you get cluster jewel with Cold Conduct + Stormrider)

You can change Ice Bite for added cold damage support or any other support which gives you more damage.

Aura

Shaper's Touch with +2 to socketed AoE gems or +1 to all socketed gems:

Enlightent - Herald of Ice - Hatred - Flesh and Stone

4-link

Vortex - Bonechill - Arcane Surge (around lvl. 6) - Culling Strike or Unbounded Ailments.

2-links

Immortal Call(20) - Cast When Damage Taken(20)

Dash or Flame Dash - Second Wind

1-links: Vaal Righteous Fire, Precision (just to cap you accuracy, it should be around lvl. 11), Vitality

Notice if you will have in 3-link Cast When Damage Taken and Vaal Righteous Fire both at lvl. 20 then your CWDT will activate your regular Righteous Fire skill when you get hit. You need to unlink that item or use Vaal Righteous Fire with at least one level higher than CWDT (for example VRF lvl. 21 and CWDT lvl. 20). Also look out to not support precision with anything to not higher it reserved mana cost.

Recommended upgrade order:

Enlighten lvl. 3 > Awakened Added Cold Damage Support > Enlighten lvl. 4 > Awakened Cast on Critical Strike > Anomalous Ice Nova > Divirgent/Phantasmal Cyclone > Other alternative quality gems

Gear Setup

Core items

1. Cospri's Malice

2. Replica Soul Tether or Glorious Vanity in the name of Doryani

3. Shaper's Touch (+1 to socketed gems to ugrade Enlighten or +2 to AoE gems for our Auras)

4. Astramentis (anoint Utmost Might or Tranquility when you cap you crit chance without Utmost Might)

Recommended items

1. First ring - Circle of Fear with 2 out of 3 affixes:
- Herald of Ice Has #% reduced mana reservation - this one is very important early when you don't have Enlightment lvl. 4. or even lvl. 3.
- Increased cold damage while affected by Herald of Ice
- Herald of Ice has #% increased buff effect

2. Second ring - The Taming because we freeze, shock and ignite either way so we got full benefits. Other than that you can use any other ring with resistances and life.

3. Helmet - Blizzard Crown - free +cold dmg because with Inevitable Judgement Ascendancy it has no downside. The best will be warlord+shaper with +1 maximum power charge and nearby enemies take 6% increased elemental damage.

4. Body Armour - can be any chest with life, ES and resistance. The best would be explosive chest with Attack have +#% to Critical Strike Chance and resistance. Preferable Vaal Regalia or Sadist Garb. Vaal Regalia is better with Glorious Vanity Timeless jewel and Sadist Garb is better with replica Soul Tether. There is also an extremely useful syndicate craft "Gain 10% of your life as Energy Shield".

5. Boots - movement speed, life and resists.

6. Shield - Light of Lunaris or any shield with spell damage and resistances.

Flasks

  • Cinderswallow Urn with Increased Critical Strike Chance or Regenerate 3% of Life per second.
  • Rumi's Concotion or Quartz Flask.
  • Atziri's Promise.
  • Basalt Flask.
  • Quicksilver Flask

Jewels

1. Large Cluster Jewel +12% cold damage (8 passives). Ideally you want 3 good skills from the list but any 2 out of 3 will be good enough:

  • Prefix: Cold to the Core, Prismatic Heart, Sadist.
  • Suffix: Doryani's Lesson, Disorienting Display, Widespread Destruction. (I prefer Doryani's Lesson because of life leech)

This is a tricky part because you only need good 2 out of 3 skills but depends on which one you get they might be located in different order on your jewel. For example I currently use jewel with Cold to the Core, Doryani's Lesson and Snowstorm which is useless for me but it's located on the opposite side of the cluster jewel so I can skip it and still have the good ones Cold to the Core and Doryani's Lesson. You can check how cluster jewel will look with a certain skills in PoB.

2. Medium Cluster Jewel +10% Area Damage (4-5 passives): Magnifier, Vast Power

3. Medium Cluster Jewel +10% increased Effect of Non-Damaging Ailments (4-5 passives): Cold Conduct, Stormrider

4. Abyss jewel with life and +fire damage to spells if you using Cinderswallow Urn for additional 10% increased damage taken by enemies.

5. Frozen Trail (Ideally with corrupted blood cannot be inflicted on you but you can have anti-bleeding flask instead).

6. Watcher's Eye with +#% critical strike chance while affected by Hatred.

7. Thread of Hope with Large radius.

8. One normal jewel with increased life and some critical strike multipliers.

9. Unnatural Instinct - there are few sockets around our passive tree where this jewel gives us a lot of good stuff.

All jewels except Unnatural Instinct are mandatory at some point but you can start without them and start using them when you progress your character. The only jewel you need to use at the beginning is Frozen Trail but it is a quest reward so it should not be a problem to obtain it.

Recommended upgrade order

Frozen Trail x2 > Medium Cluster Jewel +10% increased Effect of Non-Damaging Ailments > Large Cluster Jewel +12% cold damage (with at least one good passive on the road to sockets) > Watcher's Eye > Thread of Hope (you replace one Frozen Trail with it) > Medium Cluster Jewel +10% Area Damage > Large Cluster Jewel +12% cold damage (with 2 good passives on the road to sockets).

Meanwhile we use normal jewels with increased life/ES and some damage or even to cap our resistance. When you get Cinderswallow Urn then you change one normal jewel with Abyss jewel +life and +fire dmg to spells.

Leveling

League start possibilities

It might be possible to league start with this build but as Mjolner instead Cospri's Malice. The main concept of the build will remain the same but Mjolner should be significant cheaper than Cospri's Malice in the first week of a new league. You can switch later to Cospri as soon as you can afford it.

Upgrade order

1. Core items and Flasks (Life flask in place of Cinderswallow Urn)
2. At least one Ice Nova lvl. 21. (I don't know why but Vaal Ice Nova is cheaper than corrupted Ice Nova)
3. Circle of Fear with Herald of Ice has #% reduced mana reservation and one of "Increased Cold damage" or "Herald of Ice increased buff effect".
4. Other cheap items and jewels life + one multiplier mod whenever you need them.
5. Enlighten level 3.
6. Watcher's Eye with +#% Critical Strike Chance while affected by Hatred.
7. Awakened Added Cold Damage, Thread of Hope, basic cluster jewels and Cinderswallow Urn. In no particular order, they all should be at the similar prices so buy whatever you want.
8. Explo chest with "Attacks have +#% to Critical Strike Chance".
9. More expensive Large Cluster Jewel (3 good passives or 2 on the right spots) and Enlighten level 4 and better normal jewels.
10. Awakened Cast On Critical.
11. Alternative quality gems.

IMPORTANT!!! DO NOT start this build with buying Awakened Cast On Crit. It's a waste of money at the beginning. If you already bought it but you still don't have other important items/jewels/gems than sell it and buy them. It's extremely important in the case of Watcher's Eye. You want it as soon as you can afford it.

My eyes were closed, and through the net of eyelashes, I saw my penis, drooping and wrinkled with fear, which had hung. Lifelessly between my legs before, began to grow literally before my eyes, rising and filling with blood, it became upright. And the blue head, peeking out from behind the skin that had straightened and slightly rolled off it, issued from the hole crowning it.

A drop of transparent liquid, like a tear. The drop fell off and crawled down the penis, to where the neighbor's piston worked between my legs.
