Force Master 1 is the innovative CDI which allows to change the injection in order to fit perfectly the new Malossi 4-stroke cylinder kit.
This CDI has been scheduled with 4 different maps so as to be coupled perfectly with your vehicle whatever its setting is!

Second, because the steel portion of the disk is separated from the center hub, it is allowed to expand and retract more uniformly than a single piece disk. This results in a higher tolerance to abuse and high temperatures.

Precision engineered ramp plates create less friction on the rollers or sliders, allowing them to adapt more rapidly to changing driving conditions and resulting in less wear.

The longer angle ramp plates in the Dr Pulley variators allow for faster and smoother engagement at all speeds, and allow lighter weighted sliders to fully extend to make the most of your CVT system.

The Dr Pulley variator comes with the variator, fan plate, and center boss pin. Rollers or sliders not included.

The Dr. Pulley clutch and bell set is designed to be tuned to your vehicle and comes with at least six sets of springs - three clutch arm spring sets, and three pillow spring sets.

The HiT clutch has a secondary mechanism that engages when your CVT system reaches a certain RPM (tunable with the included three sets of "pillow" springs). This secondary mechanism locks the clutch arms in place against the clutch bell preventing clutch slippage when under load!

If I am correct, I believe that your Zuma uses a horizontal-style Minarelli engine (2 stroke). Synthetic oil probably won't help much, as a 2 stroke engine burns its oil along with the fuel.
I would suggest adding slightly heavier roller weights in the CVT, as this will help the engine to shift up to a higher gear ratio at a lower RPM. This will probably hurt your acceleration. While you are replacing the rollers, check to see if there is a restrictor on the CVT that blocks it from reaching the highest gear. 49ccscoot.com has a detailed tech section that explains where to check for restrictions on the engine and CVT. Also provoscooter.com has a how-to section that provides detailed pictures on de-restricting the CVT assembly.
Be very careful if you decide to lean the carburetor, as 2 stroke engines are rather prone to sudden engine failure if they run too lean (the oil is injected into the engine along with the fuel, if the fuel is reduced, the oil is reduced too). Having just replaced a piston on my scooter (minarelli clone engine), I can say that I would rather the engine ran slightly rich than have to rebuild the engine every 4K miles. Again, provoscooter.com has an article in the how-to section on reading spark plugs on 2 stroke engines to determine how rich or lean your engine is running.

HEY,

I SENT THE LETTER BELOW TO SEVERAL ZUMA PERFORMANCE PARTS DEALERS. ONLY A COUPLE GOT BACK TO ME. THE ONES THAT DID SUGGEST 1. PIPE 2. BBK/CARB 3. VARIATOR 4. GEARING.

HERE IS MY THOUGHT ON ALL OF THIS. I DON'T WANT TO BUY A PIPE THIS YEAR, THEN NEXT YEAR A BBK/CARB AND FIND OUT THE PIPE I HAVE WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY WITH THE NEW BBK/CARB. WITH THAT SAID, I DON'T WANT TO THROW A PIPE ON THIS YEAR JUST TO THROW A PIPE ON. I WANT SOME INCREASE IN PERFORMANCE WITH THE PIPE NOW, THAT WOULD BE BOOSTED EVEN MORE WHEN I DO THE BBK/CARB.

ALSO, WHAT PIPE AND BBK/CARB DO YOU GUYS USE AND WHAT ELSE DID YOU HAVE TO DO TO GET IT ALL TO WORK TOGETHER? JETTING, CRANK... ANY OTHER INFO WOULD BE A HUGE HELP.

I am thinking about doing some performance upgrades to my 2003 50cc Yamaha Zuma. I am not going to be racing this scooter. I would like to get more torque and top speed. I don't want to have to wait until I don't see any traffic for 2 miles before I can pull out without getting run over. Also, a top speed of at least 45 MPH would let me ride on more streets than I currently can. I'm not talking about interstate highways or anything like that. Just getting to my local WalMart requires me driving on a stretch of road where the speed limit is 45 MPH. It takes a long time for my stock Zuma to get up to around 38 MPH, so...
I have been involved in racing for over 36 years with all types of vehicles for go karts to formula cars. I have held every position possible on a race team and I am very mechanically inclined. Basically what I am saying is, making modification to my Zuma would not be a big deal to me.
I am not worried about whether any modifications will be “plug and play”. I feel very comfortable about tuning.
I understand that making modifications to my scooter may effect reliability. With that said, reliability is still important to me. In other words, I am not looking to push my scooter to the performance max. All I want is the most bang for my buck I can get and get some more performance.
What I don't want to do is spend money I don't have to waste. I am fine with spending some money to get a performance boost, but my budget is tight. I would really like to stay under $400 this go around. It may not be a problem to invest a little more money in a year or so, but right now $400 is my max for sure.
