SPIRITUAL WARFARE SCRIPTURES

Warfare scriptures are set of verses that are often use in deliverance prayers. They are words of God that contains fight, protection, victory, deliverance, possession, light, faith etc.  The word ‘warfare” means, fight, conflict etc.

But in the spiritual perspectives, the symbol signifies war against principalities and powers as written in Eph 6:11-12. The Bible says, whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever you loose on earth, will be loose in heaven”. To effectively overcome every battle, you must use the warfare scriptures to pray.

For example, if our Lord Jesus Christ had not use the word as ”it is written”, do you think the devil will ever give up so easily? That’s why as Christians, it is very important to pray without ceasing. Because the devil is seeking for whom to devour.

When you are engaged with some bible verses, there is no way you will not convert it into prayers. Some people get into more troubles by starting warfare prayers against the devil, but having no passion to finish it up.  When you find it hard to defeat your enemies, they will come after you at your unguarded hour.

Without the power of God in you, it will be very tough to bind and loose. Without the fire of the Holy Ghost in your, if you command a thing and that thing will not be established. Without the back up of heaven concerning your prayer, every other pray engagement with the devil would be a wasted efforts. So many people are going into spiritual warfare while pressing their phones.

So many youth are going into midnight prayers and begin to doze off. The rate of deception in the place of prayer is getting too much. It’s time you check your weaknesses and correct them immediately.

Similarly, there are some sisters going into warfare prayers after having sex with a man. This is a serious matter. As you settle down to read and meditate on the word of God with the attention it deserves, may the word of God set you free from all situation.

CONFESSION
“No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against me in judgments I shall condemn. This is my heritage as the servant of the Lord and my righteousness is of the Lord” The Lord will disappoint the devices of the crafty against me, their hands will not be able to perform their wicked enterprises in Jesus name.

The Lord will hide me in his secret place from the pride and plans of the wicked, He will keep me secretly in his pavilion from the strife of tongues. According to Ps 5 verse 10, O Lord, destroy thou them that are plotting against my life, let them fall by their own counsels, cast them out in the multitude of their transgression, for they have rebelled against God. Amen.

Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength. Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah. Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good. For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

52. Psalm 2:1-7
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

55. Psalm 35:1-10

Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them. For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation. 61. Psalm 86:6-13
Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me. Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works. All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name. For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone. Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 64. Psalm 109:1-5
Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise; For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

65. Psalm 121:1-8
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore

66. Psalm 91:1-6
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

40 Bible verses to break down mental strongholds – Spiritual warfare scriptures

Many believers live in perpetual defeat due to believing the lies of the enemy until those lies become mental strongholds.

John 10:10 clearly states that the plans of the devil are to hinder, discourage and bring forth harm and destructions to us. But the good news is that we have a weapon far greater than the forces of evil, the sword, Word of God (2 Corinthians 10:4).

So brothers and sisters, no matter what mental stronghold you are facing, God has equipped you with the divine power to tear down any unwanted thoughts that bombard you. Be assured and believe in God’s promises that he will never leave you or forsake you.

So whether you currently feel depressed, hopeless or find yourself mostly wallowing in lustful thoughts, there is a way out for you – just believe it.

The solution to overcoming the lies of the enemy is to fill your mind with God’s word until there no room for the devils lies to enter your mind. Make it a goal to completely saturate and believe every single word in the Bible. Anytime the enemy attempts to whisper evil thoughts in your mind, counteract it with the Word of God.

Below we have compiled a list of bible verses worth meditating and memorising to overcome satanic mental attacks.

Print out the verses and start reading aloud the scriptures with boldness.

31 Spiritual Warfare Scriptures: Help for Facing Life's Battles

We're in a battle in this world. We may not see it, we might forget it's there. But the enemy would love nothing more than to start our year off with discouragement and defeat, bringing fear and stress. Don't let him win.

If you're a believer who is living like salt and light in a dark world, you won't go for long without encountering spiritual warfare - obstacles and attacks he'll hurl your direction. God reminds us in His word to stay aware of Satan’s schemes, to live alert in this world, and to stay close to Him.

He arms us with the sword, the Word of God, to stand against the enemy’s lies. He equips us with strength, wisdom, and discernment through His own Spirit to stay strong in the spiritual warfare battle. He invites us to spend time in His Presence, through prayer and worship, pressing in to know Him more.

As we grow to know God’s Truth and what is real, we also know more what is false, and we are stronger to stand against it in the powerful name of Jesus. He never leaves us to fend for ourselves in a dark world, but reminds us He is constantly with us, fighting for us, even when we cannot see.

Praying God’s words back to Him, is a powerful weapon against the forces of evil. It is Truth going out. It reminds us that God knows our way and understands what we face today. It builds our faith and our trust in God. It guards our hearts and focuses our minds back on Him. It wins the battle.

A Prayer Against Spiritual Warfare

Dear God, today we put on the full armor to guard our lives against attack. We put on the belt of truth to protect against lies and deception. We put on the breastplate of righteousness to protect our hearts from the temptations we battle. We put the gospel of peace on our feet, so we’re ready to take your light wherever you send us this day. We choose to walk in the peace and freedom of your Spirit and not be overcome with fear and anxious thoughts. We take up your shield of faith that will extinguish all the darts and threats hurled our way by the enemy. We believe in your power to protect us and choose to trust in you. We put on the helmet of salvation, which covers our minds and thoughts, reminding us we are children of the day, forgiven, set free, saved by the grace of Christ Jesus. We take up the sword of the Spirit, your very Word, the one offensive weapon given to us for battle, which has the power to demolish strongholds, alive, active, and sharper than any double-edged sword.

We ask for your help in remembering to put on your full armor every day, for you give us all that we need to stand firm in this world. Forgive us God for the times we’ve been unprepared, too busy to care, or trying to fight and wrestle in our own strength.

Thank you that we never fight alone, for you are constantly at work on our behalf, shielding, protecting, strengthening, exposing deeds of darkness, bringing to light what needs to be known, covering us from the cruel attacks we face even when we’re unaware. In the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

This is why 1 Peter 5: 8 tells us, “Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

While this may sound scary, the next verse offers you exactly what you need to handle these spiritual attacks.

Verse 9 reads: “Resist him, standing firm in your faith…” In order to stand firm in your faith, you need the Word of God(See Romans 10:17).

This is why you need to meditate on the following 10 Bible verses whenever you are faced with spiritual attacks.

Psalm 34:17 —

“The righteous cry and the LORD hears And delivers them out of all their troubles.” Just a reminder that God is all we need to overcome spiritual attacks.

Psalm 44:5 —

“Through You, we will push back our adversaries, through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.”

James 4:7 —

“Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” This verse reminds us that God is the source which is why we should submit and rely on Him.

1 John 4:4 —

“You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” This is a reminder that what we carry always outweighs whatever the Devil would try to. It should serve as a source of comfort.

Luke 10:19 —

“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”

2 Chronicles 20:15 —

“This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” Remember, when the Devil tries to attack you, he is indirectly trying to attack God and we all know God wins every time.

Deuteronomy 3:22 —

“Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you.”

Deuteronomy 28:7 —

“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”

Romans 8:37 —

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Ephesians 6:11–17

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” These verses carry all the answers.

Attacks will come but we should never be scared because God has already conquered the World (See John 16:33).

Spiritual Warfare Scriptures

What does the Bible say about Spiritual Warfare?

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 discusses the warfare of spirit, saying "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

The most important battle we will fight is not physical or mental. It is the spiritual warfare we undergo as devoted followers of God when the strength and conviction of our faith are continuously tested. In this battle, we face not only external forces but the thoughts and passions within ourselves that may stray from the path of righteousness. Thankfully we can look to the wisdom of scripture and the Armor of God to encourage us in this spiritual war.

A Spiritual Warfare Prayer

Strengthen my faith, Lord. Forgive my sins, so that I may be clean in your righteousness. Make me brave, so I can stand and fight the spiritual battles in my life and in our world. Give me your wisdom and discernment so I won't be caught off guard. Together, Lord, we'll win, because in truth, you already have. While evil still roams, the power of Your name and Your blood rises up to defeat and bring us victory against every evil planned against us. While malicious actions may disturb us, we use the armor of God You have given us to stand firm. You will bring justice in due time for all the harm and needless violence aimed at Your children. Until then, we remain in Your presence, aligned with Your purposes, and we look to You as our Supreme Commander and Protector. Help us to avoid temptation, and deliver us from evil, Lord. You are the Mighty One, the One Who will ultimately bring all evil to light. With You, Jesus, we are safe. Amen.

20 Scriptures on Deliverance

by Dr. Gary Linton | Updated August 2nd, 2021

Are you facing what seems to be insurmountable opposition and attacks from the enemy? God is about to bring deliverance into your life and situation.

Watch the Message

Hebrews 4:9-10 – “There remains therefore a rest for the people of God (you). For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works, as God did from His.”

Claim the following scriptures for yourself. Memorize and meditate on them. Speak them out loud, declaring and decreeing your deliverance. As you decree the Word of God into the spiritual realm, you will begin to see it materialize into reality.

Job 22:28 – “You will also declare/decree a thing, And it will be established unto you; And the light will shine upon your ways.”

Scriptures Declaring Our Deliverance

  1. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the favorable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18-19).
  2. “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
  3. “Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder (cobra): the young lion and the dragon (serpent) shalt thou trample under foot” (Psalms 91:13).
  4. “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means injure you” (Luke 10:18-19).
  5. “When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display/spectacle of them, having triumphed over them through the cross” (Colossians 2:15).
  6. “Do not be afraid! Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:13-14).
  7. “The Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you – to give you victory” (Deuteronomy 20:4).
  8. “I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord” (Psalms 40:1-3).
  9. “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered: let them also that hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them rejoice exceedingly” (Psalms 68:1-3).
  10. “Thine hand shall be lifted up against thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off” (Micah 5:9).
  11. “It shall come to pass in that day (this day – today), that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing” (Isaiah 10:27).
  12. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you” (Isaiah 43:2).
  13. “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me, declares the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17).
  14. “When the enemy comes in, like a flood The Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19). Most translations place the comma after “flood” in this verse, signifying the enemy comes after us like a flood. Though our enemy does pursue us like a flood at times, the comma should be after “When the enemy comes.” In this way the verse signifies that when our enemy come after us, “like a flood The Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him.”
  15. “The Lord shall utter His voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For he is strong that executeth His Word” (Joel 2:11).
  16. “The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty – A victorious warrior; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will quiet you in His love, He will joy over thee with singing – shouts of joy” (Zephaniah 3:17).
  17. “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them” (Psalm 34:7). It’s significant to note “The angel of the Lord” is singular. This, no doubt, refers to the Lord Jesus Himself. He is the “captain of the host of the Lord” (Joshua 5:13-15). He is head and commander over all the angelic host of heaven. He, Jesus, is the one who is encamped around us, accompanied by His host of angelic beings.
  18. “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them” (2 Kings 6:16). The Lord has militant angels encompassing you about. “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation” (Hebrews 1:14)?
  19. “The God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly” (Romans 16:20). This is God’s Word for you today. Claim it, in Jesus name!
  20. “Thou art my hiding place; Thou shalt preserve me from trouble; Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance” (Psalms 32:7).

When confronted by Satan, Jesus, did not pray any longer, but used the Word of God to combat him (Matthew 4:1-11). We must do no less. God’s Word is our main offensive and defensive weapon, to fight against attacks. Paul charged Timothy to take the Word given him, through prophetic utterances, to fight and wage a good warfare against the powers of darkness and the situations of life.

1 Timothy 1:18 – “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war (wage) a good warfare.”

Take the above scriptures, put them to memory, and use them to wage warfare against the enemy’s attacks. No matter what the battle or situation, God will give you victory!

Hebrews 4:12 – “The Word of God is quick (alive), and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.”

Ephesians 6:16-17 – “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked…and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”
