More .air file tweaks, fixed the windows so they don't look like daytime inside, added GPS Antennas on top of Fuselage, minor changes to panels (both 2D and VC), and added FS2002 Realistic night lighting (V2) By Kaveh Payandeh.

Installation:
If you have the original version installed, delete it. Unzip to a temporary folder, then move the unzipped folder (GulfIV) to your FS2004\Aircraft folder. This aircraft will appear in your Aircraft Selection list under Gulfstream. This is for ATC purposes. Put the contents of the Effects folder in the Main Effects folder, then delete folder. Put the contents of the Gauges folder in the Main Gauges folder, then delete folder. Also don't try to unzip the .cab file gulf. Just move it to the main gauges folder. If asked to overwrite in either cause, it should'nt be necessary but that's up to you.

In tests the aircraft handled nicely in FS2004 and cruised comfortably at mach 0.8 at FL420 so it should be fairly close to makers specs.

Editorial

The Gulfstream IV was an aircraft that I immediately put on my “Things to Try” aircraft. Having fell in love with other iterations, this felt like something I wished to enjoy using again. So, I picked up this GMax recreation of the Gulfstream IV.

Preview screenshot

Whilst an update from an FS2004 model for FSX (thanks to Danny Garnier) for that, this works excellently. But how does it operate in the sky? There’s no errors in how it flies, but is it worth flying?

Does it live up to my rather lofty expectations?

Installation

From the start, I was happy. Before installing this, please note that if you have the original version of this please erase that first.

Then, unzip this to a temporary folder or somewhere you can easily locate. Then move the folder to your FS2004Aircraft folder. Once this has occurred, it’ll come under the Gulfstream listing within the simulator itself. Installation is so easy to manage – but there’s a bit more.

Also, you need to install the Effects folder into your Main Effects folder, and the Gauges folder into your Main Gauges folder. Make sure to put only the contents in, not the folders themselves. If you get asked to overwrite, say yes – however, it’s your call.

Performance

After installation, I was hyped. Thankfully, my hype was well-justified – this flies pretty close to what I hoped for. Not only is the specifications of the aircraft more or less spot on to what I could find from the developers, it just felt so fun and fluid to fly around with.

The Guflstream IV immediately impressed me with the depth of the visual quality, too. the full animations gave the feeling of an aircraft which was alive, as well as excellent additions for added depth. From the new VIP cabin room right down to the gauge lighting, I felt like using this was super simple.

Not only is the aircraft easy to operate, but the animations and various sounds make it easy to know what’s occurring. As such, you should have no problem in learning how to efficiently operate the aircraft just from continued use.

I found that the improvements in everything from the nose wheel steering to the new landing lights just make flying this so easy. If it’s that simple in real life, I’d like to start today!

The mod does the aircraft plenty of justice, with an immaculate interior and a fantastic design. The ease of flying, too, from take-off to landing, is exquisite. The improvements included in this fifth version make a good presentation, too, from the new panel changes to the realistic night lighting addition courtesy of Kaveh Payandeh.

Overall, these depth of changes go a long way to making a very interesting aircraft feel even better. Whilst the real thing is as good as this I couldn’t say, but I was a huge fan of what this take had to offer. Should you be looking for a new aircraft to add to your FSX stable, this is the one I’d recommend at present.

FSX Boeing 737-800 2D Panel Version 2
FSX Boeing 737-800 2D Panel Version 2
This is an extensive rewrite of my Boeing 737-800 panel published in 2015. It includes a lot of new features including a working HUD, a Yoke, a new fully functional Overhead panel, upgraded gauges, a cockpit sounds package, and a VC panel. It is designed for 1020X1080 (16:9) monitors although will work on other sizes with some distortion. It is tested on FSX and should also work on P3D. As always please read instructions.

New FSX photoreal panel for A.F.Scrubs Heinkel He-112
New FSX photoreal panel for the rare and beautyfull Heinkel He-112. Whilst my old panel addon from 2009 was a photoshop work based on a tiny thumbnail photograph my new panel is based on a good photograph of a extremly rare or maybe the only one restored He-112 instrument panel. The 2D-panel and the VC are totally matching and belongs to the pretty modell from A.F.Scrub. Panel and configuration from Erwin Welker.

Casa 1.131 VC and 2 D Panel for FSX Bucker Jangmann.
This is a photoreal Casa 1.131 Spanish Version for my FSX Bucker 131 Jungmann upgrade for both the VC and 2D Panel. This was made after requests from my friends Jose Mur from Spain and Carlos Gizzi from Argentina. This should also work in FS2004 but is tested only in FSX. Modifications were done in panel textures in VC and in 2D panel to look as close as possible to the real Casa cockpit. The gauges were also redone in Spanish and some were completely changed with new ones. Installation instructions included. FSXA Gulfstream G550 2D Panel
FSXA Gulfstream G550 2D Panel
The Gulfstream G550 is a large long range executive jet which can carry up to 22 passengers. Although this panel is only a 2D panel it includes most of the features of the real flight deck including fully comprehensive synoptic displays, HUD to Gulfstream specs, authentic cockpit sounds, complete working overhead panel, complete Normal checklists, large set of CAS messages, and my latest GPS. Some of the artwork is not great but the functionality is not bad. This is a very complex panel not suited to the beginner. It is ESSENTIAL to study the included manual.

Apologies to all who downloaded my Version 2 of the Boeing 787. I completely forgot to include the GPS module. This is the whole package again with the GPS module and manual and also a couple of small bug fixes - Fuel Flow not work and Auto Mach. Please replace the original B787V2.cab and copy the additional gpsnew.cab. No change to any functions except installation.

FSX: Warsaw Modlin to Geneva with a Gulfstream V

Gulfstream G550. The Gulfstream G550 is the largest and latest development of the Gulfstream line of corporate transports. This version incorporates all of the real-world flight dynamics including correct altitude cruise and speeds, range, power, and visual smoke (effects file). It has a maximum range of 8700 nm at Mach .80, FL510E. This plane is easy enough for just about any FSX-simmer to master in little time, and illustrates the technology used in today's modern corporate aircraft. Model, texture and sounds by Peter Brun. Corrected flight dynamics and data by Douglas E. Trapp.

Gulfstream G550 in flight.Installation:

Simply copy the unzipped Gulfstream V folder and all of the subfolders to your SimObjects folder in FSX. Then enter the EFFECTS folder and read the effects.txt file for smoke installation.

Flying:

The only real thing to note with this aircraft (in FSX) is that the flaps are extreme, and the engines are powerful. No more that 2 notches are needed for take-off or landing with flaps. Rolling with less than 70% fuel will require no power, and some braking. Otherwise I've tested this model enough to be certain that it flies like the real thing. Everything works correctly and I recommend that you use autopilot for as many functions as possible, other than the final touch-down and/or taxiing.

The original version of this aircraft was designed for FS2004, and was nowhere near accurate with it's flight dynamics (it would not fly higher than about FL180). This version includes flight dynamic data that is known in the real-world. Do your own research and you will find that this plane is one of the best, based on the real-world data available. I have not invented anything in this aircraft, but simply worked the math to make her fly like she's supposed to. This includes the drag rate, lift scale, and engine power. Otherwise I'm sure you will find this plane a breeze to fly. Hopefully, you enjoy long-distance flights. Read the data available when you load the aircraft, before loading it, and you will learn what is needed.

Editorial

The FSX Gulfstream G550 is one of those aircraft that, on the face of things, is a very complex aircraft. as one of the best developments by the Gulfstream crew, it’s a true testament to modern aviation and design – Peter Brun and Douglas Trapp, the creators of this mod, have both done a spectacular job on making what is a very awkward piece of kit feel as authentic as it can. This comes equipped with proper flight dynamics, correct cruise speeds, and even the specific kind of smoke-based visuals that this aircraft creates as it flies.

Preview screenshot

For anyone with an interest in the Gulfstream brand, you need to try this out. It’s about as user-friendly as you are likely to get, with the model, the textures, the performance and the sounds all coming together to make a holy unity of enjoyment.

Installation

As ever, installation is very easy. All I had to do was grab the download, open it up, and copy the Gulfstream V folder into my SimObjects folder in FSX. Then, I had to go to the Effects folder and include the new effects.txt file included.

There – that was literally it installed and ready to have fun with.

Usage

One major element of this aircraft that immediately struck me was how accurate it was in terms of dynamics. I had the official dynamics up on the screen to compare against, and this was practically hitting every step along the way.

From the power of the aircraft to its altitude cruise and speed, I found it was more or less on-point with everything I was being told that it should be. To me? That’s about as accurate as you could want, or need, in a modern simulator.

One thing I do want to make clear, though, is just how extreme the flaps can be. The developer made this clear in the installation, but I was not expecting it to be so extensive. With no more than two notches being needed for take-off or landing, as well as rolling only needing 70% of fuel or less to make it a powerless venture, this carries out all the hallmarks of the real thing.

The whole operation works as it should, being a correctly run and carefully managed option that feels as authentic as you desire. It’s even got quality functions for the autopilot, reworked and mastered to ensure its accuracy.

This was taken from the old FS2004 edition which had nothing like the same consistency or accuracy along the way. It’s use of authentic flight resources to ensure its so close to the real thing was a really big thing for me, and made it much easier to buy into the project as a whole.

From drag rate and engine power being so accurate to the depth and quality of the textures, this makes it easier than ever to fly your aircraft in full confidence. Happy to recommend this to anyone who is interested in truly experiencing an authentic aviation experience.

Very impressive and well managed, and is for sure one of the aircraft that you should look to try out when you get a moment.
