THINKING INDEPENDENTLY, TOGETHER

Your Texas MBA is so much more than a graduate degree. It’s an experience— a once-in-a-lifetime journey that begins in Dallas-Ft. Worth and sends you to the heights of your career (and to the far corners of the globe).

You’ll take this journey alongside classmates from every imaginable background—their unique perspectives melding with yours to create true innovation. And every day at your office, you’ll apply your newfound business wisdom to solve real challenges. The result? Priceless memories and endless professional potential.

CULTURE, COHORTS, AND CLASSMATES

CULTURE

The collaborative and dynamic culture of the Texas MBA Program is by design. We’re committed to delivering you a world-class business education that is grounded in open dialogue and teamwork. As your career grows and evolves, you’ll be equipped with an array of diverse perspectives and insights.

COHORTS

Upon arrival on campus, you’ll be carefully placed into a cohort—your Texas MBA peers with whom you’ll navigate your first year’s core curriculum. To ensure you get the most out of your cohort experience, each cohort represents a wide variety of cultures, business concentrations, professional backgrounds, and geographic locations.

STUDY GROUPS

You’ll also be teamed up with 4-6 classmates for your core classes. Your study group will tackle a series of business challenges and problem-solving experiences. Like the cohort system, you’ll be placed into a study group that comprises an array of backgrounds, interests, and ambitions. You’ll challenge yourself and each other—and the results will amaze.

MBA+ LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

The MBA+ Leadership Program is designed to help you discover, strengthen, and polish your leadership style, so you can step confidently into your new career, ready to create a lasting impact. This optional program offers an individually tailored journey toward your degree that includes seminars with industry leaders, micro-consulting projects, and one-on-one coaching with seasoned business professionals.

MICRO-CONSULTING PROJECTS

Ready to apply the skills you've learned in the classroom? Work with a team of your Texas MBA classmates to solve real challenges faced by real companies. You’ll have a budget, an 8-10 week timeline, and a project manager—and in the end, you’ll present your findings and recommendations.

COACHING

You don’t know what you don’t know. But your personal business coaches do. And you’ll have access to them throughout your time in the MBA+ Program. These seasoned experts are ready to work with you one-on-one to refine your skills in communication, leadership, strategy, organizational culture, and more.

SEMINARS AND EVENTS

The learning never stops. As a Texas MBA, you get front-row access to the finest business minds and expert insight into today’s most pressing issues. From seminars on “Marketing Yourself” to “International Night” celebrations, you’ll learn and network with leaders from across industries around the globe.

LEADING FOR IMPACT CAPSTONE

Good community is good business—and this class proves it. You’ll work in teams to develop a change management strategy for a local community service organization. Drawing on everything you’ve learned during your Texas MBA experience, you’ll make a lasting, positive impact for an important nonprofit agency.

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

Join one (or many) of several student-led organizations while completing your Texas MBA. Your future-self thanks you in advance.

CAREER ADVISING

Your career consultants are available throughout the year to provide professional guidance and insight. You’ll also pair up with a Peer Advisor—a second-year Texas MBA who was at your stage of career planning just a year before.

RETURN ON YOUR INVESTMENT

Your Texas MBA degree starts paying dividends immediately. In 2015, Forbes named us the 3rd-highest return on investment (ROI) among all public MBA programs in the U.S. With the opportunity to earn six-figure starting salaries—and healthy signing bonuses—earning a Texas MBA degree is the greatest investment you’ll ever make in your career.

The Executive MBA at Mexico City is a two-year MBA program. It is designed for mid-career managers who are at general management levels or who will soon assume those responsibilities. The alternating cycle—Friday and Saturday classes every two weeks at the Tecnológico de Monterrey - Campus Santa Fe—permits continued full-time employment while providing time for work, study and family commitments. Students examine new paradigms for analyzing business situations and learn how to apply innovative leadership skills that enhance communication and interpersonal relationships within their organizations.

A highlight of the Executive MBA at Mexico City program is the set of two week-long Austin Intensives that are an integral part of this powerful educational experience. The two Intensives are held in Austin during August at the beginning of each academic year. Their focus is to prepare students to excel in the fall curriculum by providing a framework for intensive study of the core business functions. In addition to introductory lectures for the fall semester courses, participants are given specialized instruction on group dynamics, communication skills and familiarization with university resources. The Austin Intensive classes are held at the McCombs School, with students residing at The Driskill Hotel in Austin.

The third week-long experience is held at an international location in May of Year Two. The emphasis of this international seminar is on emerging issues in global management. Lectures and discussion on a variety of topics serve to synthesize the entire curriculum and provide closure for the program. This past year students traveled to Vienna and Budapest on their International Study Tour.

Participants follow a cohort system in which they take all of their coursework at the same time and in the same sequence. Following a cohort system allows the program to enhance teamwork, promote peer interaction and simulate real-world work environments.
